XPS designed for installation above waterproofing or roofing membranes in protected membrane roof (PMR) or green roof applications

Designed to reduce damage caused by freeze-thaw cycles during and after construction, DuPont™ Styrofoam™ Brand Roofmate™ Insulation helps maintain a steady warmer temperature above the roof membrane. Bonus: Reusable in PMR upgrades.

Styrofoam™ Brand Roofmate™

DuPont™ Styrofoam™ Brand Roofmate™ Insulation is an extruded polystyrene (XPS) insulation engineered for use on heavyweight decks (e.g., reinforced concrete) with a ballast layer of gravel or concrete slabs. Because it helps the roof membrane maintain a steady temperature, DuPont™ Styrofoam™ Brand Roofmate™ minimizes the harmful effects of freeze-thaw cycles, weathering and physical damage. It’s lightweight and easy to install, which makes the work go faster, and it’s readily available through our wide distributor network. When and where you need it, Styrofoam™ Brand is there.

1Values are consistent with the criteria of ASTM C578 and the requirements of the FTC R-value rule (16 CFR Part 460). R means resistance to heat flow. The higher the R-value, the greater the insulating power. Ask your seller for the fact sheet on R-value.

2Vertical compressive strength is measured at 10 percent deformation or at yield, whichever occurs first. Since Styrofoam™ Brand Extruded Polystyrene Foam Insulations are visco-elastic materials, adequate design safety factors should be used to prevent long-term creep and fatigue deformation. For static loads, 3:1 is suggested. For dynamic loads, 10:1 is suggested.

3Water vapor permeance varies with product type and thickness. Values are based on the desiccant method, and they apply to insulation 1" in thickness. Thicker products have lower permeance. Based on 1” thickness.
